Terms of Service
The purpose of these Terms is to set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between QNI (the “Company”) and Users in connection with the use of “qoro” (the “Service”), the real-time interpretation service provided by the Company.
(1) “Service” means the AI-based real-time voice and image interpretation and related additional services provided by the Company. (2) “Member” means a person who agrees to these Terms, signs up via social login or email, and uses the Service. (3) “Credits (Q)” means prepaid usage vouchers that Members top up in order to use the Service; 1 Q corresponds to 1 minute of interpretation time (2 minutes in Solo mode with captions off). (4) “Guest” means the other person who joins a room created by a Member via an invitation link or QR code and uses the Service, without signing up, only for that session.
(1) These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screen. (2) The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, and will give prior notice of any amendment, specifying its effective date and the reasons for it. (3) If a User does not agree to the amended Terms, the User may stop using the Service and delete their account. If the User continues to use the Service after the announced effective date, the User is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
(1) Users sign up through social login (Google or Kakao) or email verification (in the iOS app, email verification or Sign in with Apple) and, by signing up, are deemed to have agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. (2) Users must manage their accounts with the care of a good manager, and any liability arising from unauthorized use of an account rests with the User. (3) Members may request withdrawal from membership (account deletion) at any time on the [Wallet] screen. For accounts that use Sign in with Apple, deleting the account also asks Apple to revoke that sign-in. (4) Persons under the age of 14 may not sign up. In regions where the law requires it, the iOS app confirms this using the age range provided by Apple, and use of the app may be restricted if it cannot be confirmed. (5) If you choose “Hide My Email” with Sign in with Apple, a separate account is created with Apple’s relay email address, and it is not linked to an existing account you used with another email address.
(1) The Company provides real-time voice interpretation using an AI interpretation engine, image translation (qoro view), saving and viewing of conversation history, and related additional features. (2) Interpretation results are generated automatically by AI, and the Company does not guarantee their accuracy or completeness. For important decisions, such as medical, legal, or contractual matters, confirmation by a professional is recommended. (3) Voice (audio) is not stored; it is discarded immediately after real-time processing, and only the text of interpretation results is saved as conversation history. (4) The Service is provided through web browsers and the iOS app. The iOS app downloaded from the App Store is subject to both Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) and these Terms; Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service, its content, or its maintenance and support.
(1) Credits (Q) are topped up through Kakao Pay on the web and through Apple’s App Store payment (in-app purchase) in the iOS app, and are added to the account immediately upon payment. Within the iOS app, Credits can be topped up only through App Store payment. (2) Credits are deducted only while interpretation is actually in progress, and usage by the other person (the Guest) is deducted from the Credits of the Member who created the room. (3) Credits may be subject to extinctive prescription (a statutory limitation period) to the extent provided by applicable laws, and Credits obtained or used by fraudulent means may be reclaimed. (4) The products and prices for App Store payments are as displayed by the App Store in the currency of the User’s country, and Apple processes the payment and issues the receipt. (5) Credits topped up on the web and in the iOS app are combined into a single balance, and when Credits are used, those topped up through the App Store are deducted first.
(1) For Credits topped up through Kakao Pay that have not been used, a full refund may be requested at [Wallet] > [Purchases] on the web within 7 days of the payment date. This refund is available when the balance, excluding Credits topped up through the App Store, is at least the amount of Credits to be refunded. (2) Refunds are restricted for Credits that have already been used (deducted) or if 7 days have passed since the payment date. (3) If interpretation is not provided properly for reasons attributable to the Company (such as a service outage), the Company will refund the affected usage in full or restore it as Credits. Details are governed by the Refund Policy. (4) Refunds for top-ups paid through the App Store in the iOS app are decided by Apple and are requested through Apple’s process (“Request a refund from Apple” in [Wallet] in the app, or Apple’s Report a Problem page). The refund under paragraph (1) does not apply to App Store payments. (5) If Apple approves a refund, the Company reclaims the corresponding Credits from the balance; if the balance is insufficient because Credits have already been used, the Company reclaims the remaining balance.
Users must not engage in any of the following acts: • Using another person’s account or personal information without authorization, or fraudulently using a means of payment • Making abnormal calls to the Service through reverse engineering, automated scripts, or similar means, or causing an overload on the system • Using the Service for the purpose of interpreting illegal, obscene, discriminatory, or violent content, or infringing the rights of others • Reselling or redistributing the Service for commercial purposes without the Company’s prior consent
(1) The Company may suspend all or part of the Service for unavoidable reasons, such as system maintenance or replacement, communication outages, natural disasters, or circumstances on the part of its partners (AI interpretation, payment, and infrastructure providers). (2) The Company may change the content of the Service as required for operational or technical reasons, and will give prior notice of any material changes.
(1) The Company is not liable for damages caused by mistranslations or omissions in AI interpretation results, unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of the Company. (2) The Company is not responsible for the content of conversations between Users (such as between a Member and a Guest) or for disputes arising from them. (3) For services provided free of charge, such as Guest use and sign-up bonuses, the Company’s liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
The Company protects Users’ personal information in accordance with applicable laws, and details such as collection, use, outsourcing of processing, overseas transfer, and retention periods are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.
(1) These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. (2) Disputes relating to the use of the Service will be resolved through mutual consultation between the Company and the User. If no agreement is reached, they will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and commercial practice, and the competent court will be determined under the Civil Procedure Act. Privacy Policy
• Account: email address; nickname and profile (provided with social login) • Sign in with Apple (iOS app): the user identifier and email address provided by Apple (Apple’s relay address if you choose “Hide My Email”), and Apple’s refresh token used to revoke the sign-in when you delete your account (stored encrypted) • Interpretation data: original and translated caption text of conversations • qoro view: images you ask to translate (used only for translation processing and not stored on the server) • Payment: payment amount, date and time, and order number (card information is processed by the payment processor and is not retained by the Company) • App Store payments (iOS app): transaction ID, product, country, currency and price of the payment, and purchase and refund dates and times (payment method information is processed by Apple and is not received by the Company) • Usage records: remaining Credits, usage and purchase history, and access logs Note: Voice (audio) is not stored and is discarded immediately after real-time interpretation processing. Note: In the iOS app, the result of the age check and whether you allowed AI processing are stored only on your device and are not sent to the Company.
Identifying and authenticating Members; providing the real-time interpretation service and saving and viewing conversation history; payment, settlement, and refund of Credits; responding to customer inquiries; and operating and improving the Service.
To provide the Service smoothly, the Company outsources processing to the following: • Kakao Pay Corp.: payment processing on the Company’s behalf • Google (Gemini API): real-time voice and text interpretation and image translation (qoro view) processing • Supabase: data storage and authentication infrastructure • Vercel: web and app server hosting • Resend: sending login verification emails • thum.io: capturing web pages in qoro view on the web (the web address you enter is sent to this service) [Notice of Overseas Transfer] For real-time interpretation, what is spoken or entered (original and translated text) is transferred to and processed on Google’s AI servers (United States). The purpose of the transfer is interpretation processing, and the data is discarded without delay immediately after processing. The data storage and authentication infrastructure (Supabase) may also be located in an overseas region. The web and app servers (Vercel), login email delivery (Resend), and web page capture in qoro view on the web (thum.io) may also be processed overseas, such as in the United States. Data subjects may refuse the overseas transfer; however, in that case, use of the interpretation service will be restricted. [Apple] App Store payments and Sign in with Apple in the iOS app are processed by Apple Inc. (United States) under its own terms and privacy policy. To verify payments, the Company receives transaction information from Apple and, for this purpose, exchanges the transaction ID and a random value used to identify the account with Apple.
In principle, personal information is retained until the Member deletes their account or the purpose of processing is achieved, and is then destroyed without delay. However, in accordance with applicable laws, payment and transaction records and the like may be kept for the prescribed period in a form from which personally identifiable information has been removed. App Store payment records are handled in the same way and, after account deletion, are kept in a form that is no longer linked to the account. Conversation history is destroyed when the User deletes it directly or upon account deletion. Apple’s refresh token for Sign in with Apple is deleted after the Company asks Apple to revoke the sign-in upon account deletion; if that request fails, only the encrypted token is kept until the request is completed, so that it can be retried.
Users may at any time request access to, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of their personal information, or withdraw their consent. Conversation history can be deleted directly on the app’s “History” screen, and the account and related information can be deleted through “Delete account” on the [Wallet] screen.
Personal information is destroyed without delay when the retention period expires or the purpose of processing is achieved. Electronic files are deleted using methods that make recovery or reproduction impossible.
The Company applies encryption in transit (HTTPS), database access control (row-level security), and the principle of minimum data collection.
Inquiries and requests regarding personal information can be submitted to: • QNI (Quantum Natural Intelligence) • Email: qoro.ooo@kakao.com
To report or seek advice on an infringement of personal information, Users may contact the following agencies: • Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr, 1833-6972) • Personal Information Infringement Report Center (KISA, privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118) • Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Cyber Investigation Division (1301) / Korean National Police Agency Cyber Bureau (182)
The iOS app requests device permissions only when you use the features below, and all of them are optional. You can use the app without allowing them, but the related feature will not be available. You can change permissions at any time in iPhone [Settings] > qoro. • Microphone (optional): real-time voice interpretation • Camera (optional): taking photos of menus or documents to translate in qoro view • Add to Photos (optional): saving translated images to the Photos app Before you first use real-time interpretation or qoro view translation, the iOS app tells you that your voice, conversation text, and images are sent to Google’s AI (Gemini) and asks for your consent. If you do not consent, those features are not available.
Service Delivery, Refund & Cancellation Policy
qoro is a real-time interpretation service provided in web browsers (no installation required) and in the iOS app. There is no separate delivery process; once Credits (Q) are paid for (topped up), they are added to the account immediately and can be used right away. 1 Q = 1 minute of interpretation time (1 Q = 2 minutes in Solo mode with captions off), and Credits are deducted only while interpretation is in progress.
Due to the nature of digital goods, Credits (Q) are not eligible for exchange. If Credits were topped up incorrectly due to a payment error or the like, please contact customer support, and the Company will verify the issue and make an adjustment.
If Credits topped up through Kakao Pay have not been used, a full refund is available within 7 days of the payment date. • How to request: on the web, [Wallet] > [Purchases] > select the payment > [Refund] • For card payments, the refund is processed as a cancellation of the payment approval. • Refunds are restricted if any Credits have already been used (deducted) or if 7 days have passed since the payment date. • A refund is available when the balance, excluding Credits topped up through the App Store, is at least the amount of Credits to be refunded. • Top-ups paid through the App Store in the iOS app are not covered by the 7-day refund above; whether to refund is decided by Apple. You can request a refund in the app at [Wallet] > “Request a refund from Apple” or on Apple’s Report a Problem page (reportaproblem.apple.com), and if Apple grants a refund, the corresponding Credits are reclaimed from the balance.
Under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc., an order may be withdrawn within 7 days of the payment date. However, if Credits, which are digital content, have already been used, withdrawal may be restricted for the portion used. If interpretation is not provided properly for reasons attributable to the Company (such as a service outage), the affected usage will be refunded in full or restored as Credits. Withdrawal and refunds for App Store payments follow Apple’s policies and procedures.
Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days after the refund request is received; the actual reimbursement date may vary depending on the settlement schedules of card issuers and payment methods. The processing time for refunds of App Store payments follows Apple’s policies.
